Phase 5: Placement and structure of the greenhouse.

The structure of the greenhouse, as he appeared in the previous sketch, it has been designed for an as practical as possible assembly. It is clear of 5 arches that they will be those who shape the structure and that will join with lateral bars for those who foresaw a few hookings in the arches frontal and back for his placement.

After placing the arches frontal and back, that have joined with some lateral bars to measure and to present the structure, place other three interior arches, which have held themselves with wire, for the present in a provisional way in order that it allows his mobility.

Later, there are placed the vertical bars that will sustain the structure and will delimit his height. For it, we will have to realize holes in the ground because the hardness of the same one did not allow, in the first attempt, to fix them since we were designed.

We sharpen the banes with the radial one to facilitate his introduction in the ground, and we proceeded to clear, first, the area of the greenhouse removing and transplanting some trees and hedges that were in the zone.

We proceeded to measure accurately the location of 5 pops that will sustain the structure to realize differently the holes with the sufficient depth that allows us to adapt them to the structure of the greenhouse and to placing the lateral bars that give the necessary consistency up to obtaining the tool that allows us to fix the props.

To comment that we have had many problems with the weather, since though in any photos it does not seem, during the dates of assembly we suffer continuously bad weather followed several who did not allow us to construct the greenhouse as we wanted since it was becoming impossible to be employed at such conditions, having to delay very much his construction and take advantage of spaces of the day in which the snow, the rain and the intense wind were giving us small rests.

We fix the structure to the ground, compacting well with stones and land in order that the subordination is very strong. We did this because Monterroso's weather is extreme and, in numerous occasions, there take place strong winds, rains, etc. That might demolish the structure in case it was not fixed well and anchored to the ground.

              Later, we fix the lateral bars to the arches of the greenhouse. For it, first, we measure in each of them the distance to the first arch, to support the equivalent distance during the whole path of the bar, repeating the same step in all of them.

We reinforce also with wire the hooking of the frontal and back arches with the bars to prevent them to fall down, in the same way that we did previously in the central arches, to complete, finally, the structure.

Fase 5: Colocación y montaje de la estructura del invernadero.

La estructura del invernadero, tal y como se presentó en el boceto anterior, ha sido diseñada para un montaje lo más práctico posible. Consta de 5 arcos que serán los que conformen la estructura y que se unirán con barras laterales para las que se previeron unos enganches en los arcos frontal y trasero para su colocación.

Tras colocar los arcos frontal y trasero, que se han unido con algunas barras laterales para dimensionar y presentar la estructura, se colocan los otros tres arcos interiores, que se han sujetado con alambre, por ahora de un modo provisional para que permita su movilidad.

A continuación, se colocan las barras verticales que sustentarán la estructura y delimitarán su altura. Para ello, tendremos que realizar agujeros en el suelo ya que la dureza del mismo no permitió, en un primer intento, clavarlas como pretendíamos.

Afilamos los puntales con la radial para facilitar su introducción en el suelo, y procedimos, en primer lugar, a despejar el terreno del invernadero quitando y trasplantando algunos árboles y setos que estaban en la zona.

Procedimos a medir con precisión la ubicación de los 5 puntales que sustentarán la estructura para realizar de otro modo los agujeros con la profundidad suficiente que nos permita adaptarlos a la estructura del invernadero y a colocar las barras laterales que den la consistencia necesaria hasta conseguir la herramienta que nos permita fijar los puntales.

Fijamos los mástiles al suelo, compactando bien con piedras y tierra para que la sujeción sea muy fuerte, ya que el clima de Monterroso es extremo y, en numerosas ocasiones, se producen fuertes vientos, lluvias, etc. que podrían derrumbar la estructura en caso de que no estuviese bien fijada y anclada al suelo.

A continuación, fijamos las barras laterales a los arcos del invernadero. Para ello, en primer lugar, medimos en cada una de ellas la distancia al primer arco, para mantener la distancia equivalente durante toda la trayectoria de la barra, repitiendo el mismo paso en todas ellas.

Para fijar la barra a los 3 arcos centrales, lo realizamos con alambre que iremos enroscando alrededor de arco y barra para lograr una estructura sólida y compacta

Reforzamos también con alambre los enganches de los arcos frontal y trasero con las barras para evitar que puedan salirse, del mismo modo que hicimos con anterioridad en los arcos centrales, hasta completar, finalmente, la estructura.

Fase 4: Diseño del invernadero y preparación de la estructura.

En función del espacio destinado al invernadero, hemos diseñado una estructura que se adapte a la forma y los propios materiales (botellas vacías de agua) que se van a emplear para su revestimiento, tal y como se puede ver en el boceto adjunto:

Para el material con que se ha realizado la estructura, hemos utilizado varilla corrugada (material de encofrado). Se han aprovechado los restos sobrantes del taller productivo que hubo en el centro durante varios años. Con esos restos, se fueron soldando en el curso de metálica que en la actualidad hay en nuestro Centro hasta confeccionar los diferentes elementos que conforman la estructura.

Tras proceder a pintarlos, en el mismo taller, para proteger de la humedad, procedimos al traslado de los materiales a la zona de la estación meteorológica, donde será la ubicación definitiva del invernadero.

Taking into account the space we have, we had designed an especial structure adapted to the materials we were going to use to cover the greenhouse

We used iron barns to build the structure. These have taken advantage of the remaining remains of the productive workshop that existed in our facilities for several years. With these remains, they were knitting in the course of metallurgy that at present exists in our Centre up to making the different elements that shape the structure.

After proceeding to paint them, in the same workshop, to protect of the dampness, we proceeded to the movement of the materials to the zone of the meteorological station, where it will be the definitive location of the greenhouse.
